My second school was at Nukko Lake Elementary, once again a rural school, with again, only 5 divisions.

However, Nukko Lake has so many amazing things that they have been able to implement due to their half capacity; such as, The Bear Den, which is their Aboriginal Education room, and their sensory room. Both of these rooms have the ability to serve the whole students. The Aboriginal Education room also serves as the Breakfast Room, where breakfast is prepared and served, every student is offered the ability to go in, pick up breakfast and take their time while eating.

Every teacher is also given toast as the morning starts so that they are given the opportunity to eat if they were unable to before leaving home, another sign of complete welcoming. This Breakfast Program allows every student an equal opportunity for food in the morning and combats food insecurity for students. All of this was implemented and provides the school with a huge sense of community, as every child is acknowledged, recognized, and most importantly, valued.
This was a fantastic experience to see a different school and to learn the community that exists at Nukko Lake.
