My first Pro-D day was spent learning about FASD – Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

My biggest take-aways were the 8 magic keys:

  1. Concrete
  2. Routine
  3. Consistency
  4. Repetition
  5. Simplicity
  6. Be Specific
  7. Structure
  8. Supervision

Each of these keys are helpful for the success of all students which is the goal of teaching, aim to install positive learning in every student – not just the average, but all. In my career, I would like to think of the 8 Magic Keys to feel confident that I am doing something to benefit my students.

I hope that as I continue my education, I will be effective in giving a positive school/learning experience to every student.
